During a recent announcement, Kim Yoo-won, the CEO of Naver Cloud, stated that AI has transcended the realm of research to become a vital technology that determines industrial competitiveness. With the foundation of full-stack AI capabilities, Naver Cloud introduced the direction of its ‘Sovereign AI 2.0’, which aims to transcend technological independence in language and culture to a broader scope across industries and everyday life. This initiative is positioned to strengthen national competitiveness by creating a new model for industrial AI transformation.
Naver released the HyperCLOVA X model in 2023, tailored for non-English languages, and has been progressively unveiling lightweight models, inference models, and open-source models, with over two million downloads of the latter. The firm plans to evolve HyperCLOVA X into an ‘Any-to-Any’ omnifoundation model, providing a range of AI innovations tailored to various industries. Moreover, to securely operate data and AI, they are set to launch an upgraded version of their private cloud, NeuCloud, next June. Naver Cloud’s strategy includes collaborating with key industry players to support AI integration in areas like manufacturing and predictive quality management, establishing a robust technological framework in industrial environments.
