On the 28th, Microsoft launched its App Builder, an AI agent that enables app creation solely through conversational language. Users can describe the functionality they need, and the AI handles the rest of the development process. Built on Microsoft’s generative AI, Copilot, this tool offers a familiar workflow.
The App Builder utilizes ‘vibe coding’, where the generative AI writes code based on user instructions or sentence prompts. This approach proves useful for automating routine tasks or creating basic apps, with practicality supported by numerous existing examples. Microsoft highlighted its capability to generate various applications for task directives, milestone tracking, and campaign progress monitoring. Furthermore, it can automate repetitive tasks like sending daily reports or posting reminders to Teams channels. The option to create custom AI agents that learn from SharePoint resources and Teams conversation data is also available.
