Hyundai AutoEver America disclosed a serious data breach that revealed sensitive personal information of customers, including Social Security numbers and driver’s license details. The company detected unauthorized activity on March 1, 2025, following an investigation that identified unauthorized access starting from February 22, 2025, lasting for about nine days with potential data exposure. The breach not only compromised personal data but also highlighted vulnerabilities in the automotive technology sector.

In response to the intrusion, Hyundai AutoEver promptly terminated the unauthorized access and enlisted the help of external cybersecurity experts to investigate the breach thoroughly. The company has also notified law enforcement agencies while offering affected customers complimentary two-year credit monitoring services.
