In late August, Kigali hosted the Deep Learning Indaba, a significant gathering focusing on AI and machine learning in Africa. This year’s event attracted about 1,300 participants, contrasting the nearly 3,000 who applied, indicating the growing interest and participation in AI across the continent. The vibrant atmosphere was underscored by traditional music and cultural attire, emphasizing community spirit among attendees.
