Correos Express has implemented a digital twin to streamline its transportation logistics across Spain and Portugal. This development, achieved in partnership with Neurored TMS & SCM, allows the analysis and optimization of 550 daily transport routes and 70 connected delegations. The initial phase of the project has been completed, enabling performance analysis and the identification of inefficiencies within the network. Real-time data analytics help assess vehicle capacities, congestion points, and delays, which provide insights for operational improvements.
The current phase focuses on demand forecasting and simulation of future scenarios to generate optimization proposals automatically. This will enhance decision-making by providing efficient transportation strategies based on variables such as capacity and operational costs. The digital twin serves as a strategic transformation tool, enabling Correos Express to preemptively address issues, thus boosting competitiveness and sustainability. It aims for reductions in delays and improved service quality, ultimately resulting in significant operational savings through optimized routing and fleet management.
