CIO Korea·IBM Breakfast Event Held: Presenting Business Future Directions with AI Innovation Data Strategies

The Digital Leaders’ Breakfast Meeting held on October 29 featured over 25 CIOs and IT leaders from major companies discussing strategies for AI-ready data. IDC’s Kim Kyung-min noted that half of Asia-Pacific businesses prioritize AI-ready data as essential for innovation. He emphasized that data quality and governance, rather than model development, are crucial for effective AI deployment.

During the event, IBM Korea’s CTO, Lee Ji-eun, highlighted the significance of unique corporate data in differentiating businesses and emphasized the transformation of unstructured data into valuable assets. She outlined key components of an AI-ready data strategy, including data integration and governance, underscoring the importance of security and appropriate data access control.

Lee also discussed IBM’s acquisition of DataStax to enhance its capabilities, notably in workflow flexibility for real-time data processing. In the face of increasing autonomous AI interaction, she pointed out that systems capable of rapid data streaming, combined with robust storage solutions, will be vital for businesses aiming to leverage AI effectively in the future.
