Google has introduced a security initiative to improve how Chrome handles unsecured web connections. In April 2026, Chrome 147 will pilot this feature for users opted into Enhanced Safe Browsing, allowing Google to gather data on warning frequency and user interactions. Previous pilots demonstrated negligible disruption, suggesting users will adapt well to this new security measure. By enforcing HTTPS for public sites while considering private site needs, Google aims to balance security with usability. Organizations are encouraged to immediately adopt the ‘Always Use Secure Connections’ setting to safeguard their networks and data.
