The Seoul AI Hub, in partnership with the Mila AI Institute, organized a collaborative research results sharing event to discuss joint research outcomes on September 29 in Yangjae-dong. Researchers from Mila, which is led by AI pioneer Yoshua Bengio, presented innovative projects developed in collaboration with Korean startups over a 15-week period. This included the automated generation and optimization of advertising banners by Dreb and automation solutions for PCB-A defect inspections from Resolution.

Participants also included companies like Bodavi, which shared insights on establishing a multilingual conversational AI pipeline, and Vividaim, which discussed 3D facial generation from single images. The event underscored the importance of real industrial problem-solving and the synergy between Korean startups and Canadian research teams, highlighting how quick decision-making and engineering capabilities have fostered significant learning. This partnership reflects ongoing goals to elevate local startups to a global scale through advanced research collaboration.

Furthermore, the collaboration aims to help Korean startups tackle technical challenges by connecting them with world-class researchers. As emphasized by Park Chan-jin of Seoul AI Hub, the program has expanded its reach beyond mere research cooperation, facilitating North American market entry and supporting global networking. The evolution of AI technologies, from foundation models to agent-based AI, necessitates strong startup involvement in industry-specific applications, further enhancing innovation through global cooperation.
