A survey conducted with 155 global financial leaders indicates that hybrid AI has become a core strategy in the financial industry. The report finds that 91% of respondents highly value hybrid approaches, as they allow AI operations wherever data resides. Despite the growing adoption of AI, challenges such as data and security barriers hinder organizations from achieving comprehensive AI integration.

The report highlights that 62% of financial institutions utilize hybrid AI models, integrating public cloud, data centers, and edge environments. Cloudera emphasizes that this flexible infrastructure is essential for managing existing systems and performing resource-intensive tasks like AI model training and deployment. The widespread adoption showcases the competitive necessity of utilizing data flexibly across diverse environments.

However, data security is identified as a significant obstacle in closing the implementation gap for AI. With 97% of financial firms reporting that data silos hinder effective AI model development and deployment, it underscores the need for reliable, integrated data governance and security systems to foster AI innovation. While many organizations express a high willingness to adopt AI, achieving substantial innovative value remains a challenge, with only 26% fully integrating AI into core operations.
